Bullying: strategies for staying safe
Dr Hayley Davies (University of Leeds), Fiona Benjamin and Dave Austin (Families Feeling Safe Protective Behaviours Services) have jointly informed and produced this animated video, drawing on research findings from their respective research with children and Protective Behaviours work with children, young people, and families and professionals. This is one of a series of three animations. The animations reflect story-lines that children have discussed in research accounts of their families and they are intended for children, families and for professionals to use in their safeguarding work with children and families. Desktop Capture Feedback
Antonio Martínez-Arboleda, Principal Teaching Fellow in Spanish at the University of Leeds, explains how he uses Mediasite Desktop Capture for the provision audio-visual feedback to his students and why he recommends it to other practitioners. He also offers some practical advice regarding quality assurance.
Antonio’s method has been tried successfully with students in his Final Year module on Spanish in an Economics and Business Context, but can work well in any subject in HE, including any Sciences and Humanities disciplines.
Audiovisual feedback is particularly suitable for written or video task that have been submitted electronically by students, either through a Virtual Learning Environment or by email, or in any other way.

LEED2012: How can Tokyo learn from Rio's mistakes? (Episode 1)
This episode will provide a general overview of the podcast series. The main focus will be environmental sustainability issues that Rio encountered, including air and water pollution, recycling, and protecting reserves. An outline of the lessons that can be learnt from Rio and what Tokyo can do to minimise the environmental impacts of holding an Olympic games. The main hypothesis of this podcast will be whether Tokyo will be successful in minimising environmental damage. Information will be sourced from peer reviewed journals.

LEED2012: How can Tokyo learn from Rio's mistakes? (Episode 2)
The episode will detail the crime and safety issues that occurred at Rio 2016, mainly the threats of terrorism, the muggings and street violence. It will then explain how Tokyo will deal with such issues, on top of the additional challenges of natural disasters and threats from cyberspace. The hypothesis will conclude the podcast, which will suggest whether Tokyo will be successful in their strategies, or not, in preventing the aforementioned issues.

A short podcast introducing the Leeds Institute of Teaching Excellence Masterclass: Gen. Y is so last millennium. Here comes Gen. Z by Professor Rebecca Huxley-Binns.
The challenges and opportunities universities face in how they engage with the next generation of students is the focus of this LITE Masterclass.
Rebecca Huxley-Binns, who is professor of Legal Education and Vice-Provost, Academic Enhancement, at the University of Law, lead the seminar at the University of Leeds.
Generation Z, as they have been coined, consist of those born in 1995 or later. A “Millennial”, or Generation Y, is a person reaching young adulthood around the year 2000.
Professor Huxley-Binns says: "I am not convinced universities have adapted to the challenges and opportunities that teaching Gen. Y brought us, and even if we adapt now, it will be too late. Gen. Z are biting at Gen. Y’s heels to enter higher education (HE) and start their careers."
So, what can we expect of Gen. Z? What expectations do Gen. Z’s have of HE and how are we going to adapt to the challenges of the future?
